Graduate Electives and Projects

Electives

Graduate electives vary by semester. Generally any graduate course listed under Information Science + Studies counts towards the elective requirement. Some of these originate in ISS, but most will originate in Visual and Media Studies, Literature, Cultural Anthropology and other programs that have a strong media/information/technology dimension. In some cases courses will not have been cross-listed but may still work for the Electives requirement. Students may also apply approved Special Topics and Independent Study courses towards this requirement.

Projects

Generally graduate students are expected to produce, and present, a digital project demonstrating their understanding of the intersection of information technology study and practice. Participation in an FHI Lab, Arts and Technology Lab, or Bass Connections collaborative project may also count towards the Digital Project requirement, as long as the individual graduate student's work on the project has been documented. Please consult the DGS if you have questions about whether a project fits the requirements.
