Project Overview
North Carolina Lives and Legacies seeks to reimagine the history of North Carolina from the era of Indigenous peoples to the present. The project has purposely broad goals: First, to develop an analytic framework that connects local places with larger systems and networks, national and international, based on intensive historical research. Second, to create new storytelling strategies that take full advantage of digital methods and other innovative approaches to gain new historical insights. Lastly, we aim to make these histories available to diverse audiences by working collaboratively across traditional boundaries and modes of presentation.
