Ghosts and Palimpsests: Apps for Cultural Heritage

In collaboration with the Wired! Lab for Digital Art History & Visual Culture, ISS has been exploring the potential of AR and mobile applications for telling stories about the built past in real time and space. One project focuses on the history of the Venetian Ghetto and is part of the international Visualizing Venice collaboration. The ISS role is to think about the best platforms for augmented reality and location-based audio tours of the city, and to develop an experience that integrates lived experience with historical content.
